Network Infrastructure
IDMI operates a “state-of-the-art”, high speed network utilizing the latest Microsoft™, Cisco™ and Novell™ technologies. Additionally, IDMI has a policy of continually upgrading to the fastest hardware possible. The internal infrastructure is tied together by a Cisco™ high speed, gigabit Ethernet backbone. IDMI’s experienced engineers monitor the data center infrastructure 24/7 to minimize downtime and maintain maximum operational stability.
Anytime Database Access
IDMI’s clients have the ability to access their database via the Internet 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. IDMI provides access to authorized users, via redundant Internet T1 lines from different ISP networks. The use of completely different architectures helps ensure against system failure outside of IDMI. Additionally, this architecture provides automatic load balancing during peak hours of Internet use.
Redundant Disk Storage
IDMI has carefully engineered a Xiotech™ Storage Area Network (SAN) on a Fibre Channel backbone to ensure maximum uptime and disaster recovery for all data. This allows for continual expansion of your data capacity as your business requirements increase. This high performance Storage Area Network is optimized for various database activities. IDMI has several terabytes of data storage on-line with the ability to expand on the fly, eliminating the need for planned downtime.
Network and Building Security
IDMI’s internal network is highly protected by several levels of user security and multi-level firewalls. All computers and servers are protected by enterprise firewall and anti-virus software to prevent any malicious network attacks. Updates are automatically applied keeping virus and security definitions current. Network traffic is continuously monitored for suspicious network activity and security breaches to ensure your data is safe.
Physical security is also important when it comes to your mission-critical data. IDMI requires security badges for all entry/exit doors to its facilities along with surveillance cameras and monitored alarm systems.
Disaster Recovery
IDMI has a multi-level uptime and disaster recovery plan, because the best system in the world is completely useless when it is not up and running. This comprehensive plan covers events such as power failure, malicious attacks, or natural disaster.
IDMI’s data center is backed with a dedicated natural gas power generator, allowing unlimited power protection in the event of a power outage.
IDMI performs all data backups on a high speed network nightly using incremental and full backup procedures. Weekly backups are stored in an off-site bank vault indefinitely for additional fire protection and disaster recovery. |
